Fall CHIP session to begin with Information Meeting August 30

For those who have heard about the amazing results participants in the Complete Health Improvement Plan have experienced and want to give it a try, an informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 30 at 5:30 pm at Wallowa Memorial Hospital’s cafeteria in Enterprise.  “Is CHIP right for me?” will give you the opportunity to ask questions to determine if you would like to register for the program, which will run September 6-November 2 in the evenings.

CHIP is a national lifestyle education program that focuses on all aspects of health, including eating habits, stress management, improving sleep, physical activity, the medicinal powers of common spices, and how to use smart food choices to help prevent and even reverse chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and more.  The program also covers tips and tools to stay emotionally healthy.

“I was skeptical about CHIP, and whether I would like it,” said Joan Gilbert, who took the spring session.  “I have way more energy, and my high cholesterol, which I’ve had since my 20s, dropped dramatically, taking me from the “high risk” range to the “ideal” range.”

Jennifer Medford participated in CHIP with her husband in 2016, and was impressed.  “It was really informative,” said Medford.  “The food was excellent, and it introduced us to new food choices. My husband loves avocadoes now!”

Thanks to a grant from the Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization, the cost is just $99 per participant, which is reimbursed by many insurance programs.  The fee includes all meals, recipes, educational materials and three biometric screenings, at the beginning, mid-point and end of the program.

To sign up, contact Kari Carper at 541.426.5301.
