The Wallowa County Health Care District was formed in 1992, and is the governing body of Wallowa Memorial Hospital and Wallowa Valley Senior Living, a residential care facility offering assisted living and memory care. With an elected five member board, the District meets monthly with hospital administration and the management team of WVSL.
The medical campus in Enterprise includes Wallowa Memorial Hospital; Parkway Health & Wellness Center, housing Mountain View Medical Group, the Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Clinic, Winding Waters Clinic; and Wallowa Valley Senior Living. In Joseph, a satellite clinic of Mountain View Medical Group serves the residents and visitors of Joseph and Wallowa Lake.
The cardiopulmonary department, led by Respiratory Therapist Loring Lamb, can assess the health of your heart and lungs with the latest technology, including stress echocardiograms.
The dietary department is led by registered dietician Margaret Lamm, who has extensive training in “food as medicine.” Believing healthy, fresh and delicious food plays an important role in maintaining health and aiding recovery, the dietary department will provide the nutrition you need during your hospital stay.
As a Level IV Trauma Center, we are fully equipped to provide emergency care, and transport patients via Lifeflight helicopter to larger regional hospitals when needed. Our rotating staff of physicians provides 24 hour coverage, and our 4 WD fully equipped ambulances can handle the county’s rugged roads, even in winter weather.
Our full service lab department, led by pathologist Dr. Nicole Turner and administrative director Todd Tidwell, includes five clinical laboratory scientists and three phlebotomists.
When you are recovering from an injury or illness and no longer need acute care, our swing bed program allows you to remain in the hospital to continue your recovery with skilled nursing, so you can be sure you’re fully ready when it’s time to go home.
A number of our physicians have advanced training in obstetrics and can provide expert care to expectant mothers. State-of-the-art birthing suites create a home-like, relaxing setting for labor, delivery and recovery. Wallowa Memorial Hospital has nurses specially trained in neonatal care.
