Breast Cancer Walk

Miles for Mammograms: Making a Difference, One Step at a Time

Join the Wallowa Valley Health Care Foundation in partnership with Chief Joseph Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink for our cherished annual event, Miles for Mammograms. This special morning brings our community together to celebrate life, remember loved ones, and raise crucial funds for local breast cancer screenings.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 9:00 am, we’ll gather at the Harley Tucker Memorial Arena (Thunder Room, located 3 miles west of Main Street in Joseph). From there, we’ll embark on a scenic and accessible 5k walk/run through the charming town of Joseph and the beautiful Iwetamlaykin Heritage State Park.

Miles for Mammograms is more than just a walk/run
It's an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate Survivors: Show your support for the brave individuals who have faced breast cancer.
  • Remember Loved Ones: Honor the memory of those we have sadly lost.
  • Support Our Community: Every step and every dollar raised helps provide free mammograms for low-income women at Wallowa Memorial Hospital, ensuring early detection saves lives.
  • Invest in Advanced Technology: Your contributions help fund vital equipment like our state-of-the-art 3D Mammography System, offering the most accurate screenings possible.
  • After the walk/run, join us back at the Thunder Room for refreshing treats and a chance to connect with fellow participants.
